My oldest son will be entering the harrowing world of public education before the end of the month. My wife and I are beside ourselves in anticipation and anxiety. We have done all we can to prepare him for his adventure into kindergarten with all of our experiences, both good and bad. I'm hoping that my boy will have his mother's passion for school and my knack for retaining book knowledge. I'm taking a week off from work in order to offer my wife the support she'll inevitably need and give myself some composure time.
If any of you can feel the pain I'm enduring, I need guest comics for Mangled Stare... wanna come out and play?

I feel for you. If I wasn't homeschooling I'd be in shock about Monday...
With the homeschooling that's not as much as an issue thank goodness.
I am sure that your little man will have a great time and do really well. He's a good looking kid and seems to have some smart cookies for parents
Be strong man! Be strong! You'll get through it ok too

We initially were going to go the homeschool route... but decided that with the other two kids also at home, my big boy wouldn't get the attention he deserves while trying to learn. My mini monsters can really be a handful and a half, so it was decided to let my boy get out and meet new people. We just don't have any friends with normal kids. All of my friends with kids have absolutely no hold on their kids and as a result, I end up having to deprogram their rotten habits outta my OWN brood.
We contemplated "home school groups" but my wife is already a pretty distrustful soul... so that was out.
I know my boy will soar in school. He's incredibly bright and eager to please, so I know this will be a great experience for him... and us.
I have a boy that I babysit on Saturdays. For the most part he's just fine, but he has a hard time with not getting his way. He is the youngest out of his family. As in both his sisters were out of the house before he was born, and I think he gets a little spoiled at home. Which means that he's a 7 year old that cries and throws tantrums more than my 5 year old. (granted my 5 year old consistiently gets mistaken for a 7 or 8 year old. He's big and just doesn't talk like a 5 year old.)
Anyways, sorry to ramble on your blog, lol. Look for the positive stuff, maybe mamma will have a slightly easier time for a little while during school. 2 has to be at least slightly easier than 3? (Says the cluless mamma with only 1 child, lol)
*hug*
